Research

We are a synthetic Inorganic and Organometallic chemistry research group. Our research interest is in the synthesis of luminescent Inorganic and Organometallic complexes of late transition metals for various applications. We are currently working in two fields:

2. TADF based emitters for OLEDs:

Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) mechanism enhances the efficiency of an OLED device by harvesting both triplet and singlet excitons. An Internal quantum efficiecny of 100% can be achieved by this mechanism.

Our goal is to develop efficient and long lasting blue emitter and provide an alternative route for low cost devices.

1. POSS based luminescent coordination compounds:

Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) refer to a class of cage‐like organic‐inorganic species of general formula (RSiO1.5)n. Presence of POSS in a compound adds  interesting properties such as high thermal stability, rigidity and hydrophobicity.

Our goal is to develop luminescent materials having POSS core, which will give compounds more applicability in different fields.
